East Roswell’s Premier Destination for Craft Beer, Fine Dining, and Live Music

When Tim and Lisa Stevens opened From the Earth Brewing Company in 2017, they brought something special to East Roswell: a neighborhood brewpub that would become the beating heart of the community’s dining and entertainment scene. Five years later, they expanded their vision by opening Bask Steakhouse right next door, creating a dynamic dining destination that gives residents on the east side of GA 400 access to exceptional craft beer, world-class steaks, and some of the best live music in the area.

From the Earth Brewing: Where Farm Meets Tap

From the Earth Brewing Company was Roswell’s first brewpub, bringing together locally sourced cuisine, world-class beer, and craft cocktails in a casual, welcoming atmosphere. Located at 1570 Holcomb Bridge Road in the Connexion Shopping Center, this award-winning establishment has earned serious recognition. The brewpub won USA Today’s Readers’ Choice for Best Brewpub of 2020, cementing its reputation as a destination worth traveling for.

The farm-to-table philosophy drives everything at From the Earth. The brewery sources ingredients as fresh and local as possible, even giving their spent grain from brewing to local farmers to feed cattle and incorporating it into house-made bread and dog treats. The outdoor beer garden features vegetables and herbs growing on site that are used in their dishes, creating a true full-circle approach to brewing and dining.

The brewpub offers 10-12 house beers and 4-6 rotating local and regional drafts, plus a non-alcoholic root beer. The kitchen serves up chef-driven seasonal fare at reasonable prices, with a menu that changes to reflect what’s fresh and available. It’s the kind of place where you can bring the whole family during the day or enjoy date night in the evening.

A Live Music Powerhouse

What truly sets From the Earth apart is its commitment to live music. The venue has earned recognition as the best place for live music in Roswell, hosting an impressive lineup of local and regional musicians throughout the year.

Every Thursday, the brewery hosts free live music events featuring some of the best local and regional acts in the country, with music starting around 7 p.m. and running until 9:30 p.m.—perfect timing for a school night out. But the music doesn’t stop on Thursdays. The brewery hosts many live music events starting after 8 p.m. with local and regional musicians, and special concerts are scheduled regularly throughout the year.

From the Earth’s Back Porch Concert Series has become a beloved tradition, bringing in larger acts for outdoor performances. Recent lineups have included names like Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, Cowboy Mouth, and Dogs In A Pile, showcasing everything from jam bands to southern rock. The venue is family-friendly and pet-friendly on the patio, with games available for kids and adults alike.

Year-Round Events and Community Spirit

From the Earth doesn’t just serve beer and food—it serves as a community gathering spot. Throughout the year, the brewery hosts special events that keep the good times rolling. While Thursday nights are the weekly staple for live music, the brewery has become known for holiday celebrations, beer dinners, and seasonal festivals that bring the neighborhood together.

The outdoor space, complete with fire pits and comfortable seating, makes it an ideal venue for everything from casual weeknight hangouts to special celebrations. During the pandemic, the Stevens family demonstrated their commitment to the community by hosting parking lot concerts and creating offsite beer garden experiences, ensuring that the music and community connection never stopped.

Bask Steakhouse: Elevated Dining Next Door

In February 2023, Tim and Lisa Stevens opened Bask Steakhouse right next door to From the Earth, fulfilling Tim’s longtime dream of opening an upscale steakhouse and bringing elevated dining options to East Roswell. Tim’s extensive background includes working as the youngest General Manager at Buckhead Life Restaurant Group, overseeing acclaimed restaurants like Chops Steakhouse, and earning awards for wine selection and service excellence.

Bask’s menu is seasonal, locally sourced, and decidedly Southern, offering unexpected takes on familiar dishes alongside highly selective prime meats with both dry- and wet-aged options. The steaks are sourced from Chicago meatpackers Meats by Linz and Allen Brothers, with everything from ribeye and filet to A5 wagyu and spinalis cuts, including 45-day dry-aged and 40-day wet-aged options.

The restaurant features a one-of-a-kind wine list hand-selected from Napa Valley vineyards, barrel-aged beers, and prohibition-style cocktails. The opening cocktail list featured more than 20 drinks, including 10 barrel-aged cocktails and several drinks finished tableside with smoking techniques and innovative presentations. Beer lovers will find select brews from From the Earth next door, including barrel-aged options and rotating seasonal selections.

Johnson Studio at Cooper Carry designed the space with a 1920s club-like feel, featuring a sunken wood bar, full glass wine cellar, dark blues, crystal chandeliers, copper accents, and vintage mirrors. The intimate 80-seat dining room creates the perfect atmosphere for special occasions, while three outdoor tables with couches and fire pits offer a more relaxed vibe.

The Perfect East Roswell Experience

Together, From the Earth Brewing Company and Bask Steakhouse have transformed East Roswell’s dining landscape. Before these concepts arrived, there were limited upscale dining options east of GA 400 from the Perimeter to Cumming in this largely residential area.

The beauty of having both establishments side by side is the versatility they offer. You can start with craft cocktails at Bask’s sophisticated bar, enjoy an upscale dinner with perfectly aged steaks and hand-selected wines, then walk next door to From the Earth for live music and craft beer on the patio. Or reverse it—grab a casual dinner and local brews at From the Earth on Thursday night while enjoying free live music, creating the perfect low-key evening out.

Both venues share the same commitment to local sourcing, with vegetables coming from Martin’s Garden at Coleman Farms in downtown Roswell. Both offer engaging, friendly service from teams that genuinely care about creating memorable experiences. And both reflect Tim and Lisa Stevens’ deep commitment to the Roswell community and their vision of creating gathering spaces where people can celebrate life’s moments, big and small.

Whether you’re looking for a casual brewpub experience with farm-to-table food and live music or an elevated steakhouse dinner with premium cuts and craft cocktails, East Roswell now has you covered. From the Earth Brewing Company and Bask Steakhouse prove that you don’t need to drive into Buckhead or downtown Atlanta for world-class dining and entertainment—it’s all waiting for you right here in the neighborhood.
