Understanding East Roswell Dining
East Roswell is the stretch of the city east of GA-400, built around three commercial arteries: Holcomb Bridge Road, Old Alabama Road and Mansell Road. The restaurants sit in shopping centers rather than converted historic homes, and that single fact drives most of the differences between eating here and eating downtown.
Parking is free and it is never the problem. No paid pilot zones, no decks, no circling. Every restaurant in this guide has a lot. If parking anxiety is what keeps you from a spontaneous Friday dinner, East Roswell solves it.
Rooms are bigger and groups are easier. Canton Street kitchens seat 40 to 90 people in old houses. East Roswell rooms were built as restaurants, which means large parties, high chairs and same-night tables are far more achievable.
The cuisine range is wider. Downtown Roswell is heavy on Southern, Italian and steak. East Roswell has Afghan, Persian-adjacent Mediterranean, Venezuelan-style Latin, Lanzhou noodles, Cuban and Indian within a few miles of each other. If you are tired of choosing between fried chicken and pasta, this is where to go.
Mondays are a minefield. A striking number of the best East Roswell restaurants close Monday, including From the Earth, Kabul Kabob and Mashawi. Coastal 38 closes Monday. Bask closes Sunday. Check before you go.
One geographic note. The cluster right at the GA-400 interchange, including Brookwood Grill and HOLA!, technically straddles the highway. Locals count it as the east side, and this guide does too.

The Connexion Center: East Roswell’s Dining Anchor
Three of the most interesting restaurants in East Roswell share one address, 1570 Holcomb Bridge Road, in the Connexion Shopping Center. Between them they cover a special-occasion steakhouse, a brewpub with a real concert series and a new seafood room.
Bask Steakhouse is the highest-end restaurant on the east side and the one most likely to pull people across GA-400. Owner Tim Stevens runs a room reviewers describe as dimly lit and genuinely pretty, with a menu built around a steak tasting trio, wagyu, lump crab cake and a rabbit pot pie that shows up in almost every detailed review. The yeast rolls have their own fan base. Open 4:30 PM, closed Sunday. This is a reservations restaurant, and at this price point it is fair to hold it to that standard: reviews are mostly glowing, with a minority reporting service inconsistency on busy nights.
From the Earth Brewing Company was Roswell’s first brewpub and it remains the best dinner-and-a-show option in the city. Farm-to-table menu, a rotating house beer lineup, and a bar program reviewers rate among the best in North Atlanta. The Back Porch Concert Series brings touring acts outdoors, with past lineups including Leftover Salmon, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe and Cowboy Mouth. Thursday is the weekly live music night. Coastal 38 is the newest of the three, a seafood room that opened after a soft launch and currently carries a perfect 5.0 rating. Shrimp scampi and lobster mac and cheese are the dishes reviewers name most, and there is a Sunday brunch service from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The caveat is honest: with only 23 reviews on file, the rating is real but the sample is small. Go with curiosity rather than certainty.
Holcomb Bridge at GA-400
This is the busiest and most established cluster, anchored by two restaurants with enormous review counts.
Brookwood Grill (880 Holcomb Bridge Rd) has more Google reviews than any restaurant in Roswell, on either side of 400, at over 4,300 and holding a 4.7. It is a multi-generational neighborhood American restaurant: spinach artichoke dip, salmon hush puppies, calamari, rotating specials, generous portions and reasonable prices. HOLA! Taqueria & Bar (688 Holcomb Bridge Rd) is the volume Mexican option, with more than 2,200 reviews. Fried avocado tacos, al pastor, Mexican street corn, yucca fries, vegetarian options and one of the lowest price points in this guide. Its own parking lot plus shared overflow, which matters in this stretch.
Rasoi Fusion Indian Cuisine (720 Holcomb Bridge Rd) runs a lunch buffet on weekdays and a weekend brunch buffet, with korma, rogan josh and naan made to order. Reviews split between very enthusiastic and a minority reporting weak buffet upkeep near closing time. Go earlier in the service window.
Tokyo Bay (925 Holcomb Bridge Rd) is the all-you-can-eat sushi and hibachi option, with lunch and dinner priced separately and unlimited sashimi included at dinner. Nearly 2,000 reviews at 4.1, which is roughly what an honest AYCE rating looks like. It is a family-run room, and regulars rate the fish quality above what the format usually delivers.
Kabul Kabob (1475 Holcomb Bridge Rd) is one of the more distinctive restaurants in Roswell in any direction. Afghan home-style cooking, kebabs, pulaw, bolani, mantu and Afghan bread, in a clean recently opened room. Closed Monday. Reviewers repeatedly single out a server named Hassan.
Wasabi Hibachi Sushi Bar (1475 Holcomb Bridge Rd) shares the center with Kabul Kabob and covers the hibachi and omakase side. Open seven days, later than most of the corridor, with an omakase option that reviewers rate as generous for the price.
Far East Holcomb Bridge
Past Nesbit Ferry, the corridor gets quieter and the restaurants get more neighborhood-oriented.
The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill (2000 Holcomb Bridge Rd) is fast casual done properly. Steak and chicken souvlaki plates, gyros, falafel and feta fries. Open seven days, 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM, which makes it the most reliably available option out here.
Ippolito’s Neighborhood Italian (2270 Holcomb Bridge Rd) is a long-running family Italian restaurant with a private Bocca Room used for rehearsal dinners and parties. Lasagna, vodka rigatoni, pizza, and a dessert case people notice on the way in. Opens at 3:30 PM on weekdays.
Laredos Taqueria & Grill (2300 Holcomb Bridge Rd, Ste 101) is brand new, occupying what locals will remember as the Monterey space. Carne asada and al pastor tacos, taco salad, open until 11:00 PM Friday and Saturday. The early reviews are strong but there are only a handful of them, so treat this as a promising tip rather than a verified recommendation.
Old Alabama Road
JP Sushi (1530 Old Alabama Rd, Ste 110) has the best sushi reputation on the east side, with more than 550 reviews at 4.7. Reviewers consistently note the rolls run roughly twice the size of neighboring restaurants, and the dancing eel and caterpillar rolls come up most. Closed Sunday, and it splits lunch and dinner service with a mid-afternoon break.
Cafe Amico (1540 Old Alabama Rd, Ste 450) is the east side’s cafe, open from 8:00 AM and staying open until 10:00 PM most nights, which is unusual for the format. Crafted coffee, eggs benedict, pastries and a menu reviewers describe as more ambitious than the price suggests. It is a legitimate weekend brunch destination, not just a coffee stop.
Bambinelli’s Italian Restaurant (2500 Old Alabama Rd) is the casual counterweight to Ippolito’s: baked ziti, chicken parmesan, pizza, garlic rolls, generous portions and a large bar with sports on TV. Open seven days.
Mansell Road
Mashawi Mediterranean (850 Mansell Rd) is the highest-rated restaurant in this guide at 4.8 across more than 1,100 reviews, and it operates unlike anything else in Roswell. The format is a served, multi-course Mediterranean feast: mezze including hummus, baba ganoush, labneh, tabbouleh and beets, followed by a parade of grilled meats brought to the table. Halal. Fresh lemon mint juice and kunafa get named in review after review. Closed Monday. For a large group that wants to eat well without a per-plate negotiation, this is the pick.
Voodoo Brewing Co. (1010 Mansell Rd, Ste 180) is the brewpub franchise that brought the Pennsylvania brand to Georgia in December 2024. Elevated pub food, pizza, mussels, roughly 24 taps, and a patio overlooking a pond that most reviewers rate as the best part. It also runs a full mocktail and non-alcoholic beer menu, making it the easiest East Roswell option for a mixed group. Ordering runs primarily through a QR code and app, which is the most common complaint in reviews.
Lanzhou Ramen N Sushi (1055 Mansell Rd, Ste 200) does hand-pulled Lanzhou noodles alongside sushi and ramen, with the duck noodle soup and hand-pulled dishes drawing the strongest reviews. Everything is made in house. Open seven days.
Taqueria La Bikina (1055 Mansell Rd, Ste 150) shares the center and covers cheap, good tacos in the low-price tier, with birria, fajitas and bowls. Sunday hours end at 5:00 PM.
LongHorn Steakhouse (900 Mansell Rd) is here too. It is a chain and it performs like one, at 4.3 across roughly 1,900 reviews. Mentioned for completeness rather than as a recommendation.
Where to Eat by Occasion
Anniversary or milestone. Bask Steakhouse. Nothing else east of 400 is aiming at the same target.
Dinner and live music. From the Earth, especially on a Thursday or a Back Porch night.
Large group, no reservation drama. Mashawi for the feast format, Brookwood Grill for the broad menu, Ippolito’s if you want a private room.
Family with kids. Wasabi for hibachi, HOLA! for tacos, Bambinelli’s for pizza.

A Note on New Openings and Thin Review Data
Two restaurants in this guide, Coastal 38 and Laredos, have very small review counts. Both currently show 5.0 ratings, and neither number means what a 4.7 across a thousand reviews means. Early ratings on new restaurants skew high because the first customers are friends, neighbors and people who went in wanting to like it.
This is not a warning about those two specifically. It is how to read any local restaurant listicle, including this one. A 4.4 across 1,000 reviews is more trustworthy than a 5.0 across 20. Both kinds of restaurant belong in a guide. They just deserve different levels of confidence.
Parking, Traffic and Timing
Parking is free everywhere in this guide. There is no paid pilot, no deck, no meters. That is the structural advantage East Roswell has over downtown, and it is worth remembering when a Saturday night downtown feels like too much work. Traffic is the trade. Holcomb Bridge Road is a primary commuter route and it backs up badly between roughly 4:30 and 6:30 PM on weekdays, particularly near the GA-400 interchange. A 6:00 PM reservation at the Connexion Center can mean twenty minutes in the car for a three-mile drive. Book at 5:30 or after 7:00, or come in from Old Alabama rather than fighting the interchange.
How to Choose
If you get one East Roswell dinner, make it Mashawi. It is the highest-rated restaurant on this side of town, the format is unlike anything else in Roswell, and it holds up for two people or twelve.
If it is a milestone, book Bask and go on a weeknight rather than a Saturday.
If you want a full evening rather than a meal, From the Earth on a Thursday.
If you want the restaurant that actually explains East Roswell to somebody new, take them to Brookwood Grill. Four thousand reviews and a 4.7 is not an accident.
The east side will never look like Canton Street, and it does not need to. What it offers is range, room and a parking space, which on most Tuesdays is the more useful combination.
East of 400, the parking is free and the food is better than the sign out front.
